Sweden will bid to continue their domination at the Women's Bandy World Championships, which begin in Oslo tomorrow.

The country has won eight out of the nine Championships held since its introduction in 2004, including the last two in a row.

All of their successes have come after victories over Russia in the final, and the two nations will be the teams to beat again in the Norwegian capital.

The only black mark for the Swedes is the 2014 tournament in Lappeenranta in Finland, where the Russians beat them 3-1 in the final.

Only Norway and Finland have ever won bronze in the event's history.

Eight teams are taking part in Oslo, with only the five nations in Group A standing a chance of winning.

The group includes Sweden, Russia, Norway, Finland and United States with the top four reaching the semi-finals.

Group B features Estonia, Japan and Switzerland with the winners meeting the bottom side in Group A for fifth place.

Voldsløkka Stadion will host the Group A games with the exception of Norway's final clash against Sweden, which will be at Frogner Stadium.

Group B will take place at Bergbanen, while Frogner Stadium will also host the semi-finals, final and bronze medal match.

The tournament runs until February 22.

All of the Group A sides will be play two matches on the first two days.

Sweden and Russia will meet in the last match of tomorrow.
