Singapore thrashed Thailand 17-1 to win the Men's Asia Oceania Floorball Confederation Cup in Biñan in the Philippines.

The Singaporean team were in ruthless form as the tournament ended with a one-sided final at Alonte Sports Arena.

Ranked number 16 in the world, Singapore were led by Vignesa Pasupathy and Akmal Shaharudin, who each scored a hat-trick in the thumping win.

Singapore were only 3-1 in front after the first period before they gradually moved further clear of their opponents.

They scored five unanswered goals in the second stanza and added a further nine in the last to complete a resounding victory.

Philippines claimed the bronze medal as Ryan Hallden scored the golden goal to give them a 6-5 win over South Korea.

The result hands a boost to the Philippines prior to the country hosting the Southeast Asian Games, where floorball is on the programme, later this year.
