Two-times Commonwealth Games champion Jo Edwards of New Zealand will face Norfolk Island's Carmen Anderson in the women's singles final after both came through their last-four encounters at the Asia Pacific Bowls Championships in Gold Coast today.

Both saw off section winners with world number one Edwards beating India's Tania Choudhury 21-6 and four-times champion Anderson defeating Malaysia's Siti Zalina Ahmad 21-19.

Edwards had earlier overcome Canada's Kelly McKerihen, while Anderson secured her place in the semi-finals with a 21-19 win over Australia's Kelsey Cottrell.

Also determined today were the finalists in the women's fours, men's pairs and men's triples events.

New Zealand will be represented in all three thanks to semi-final wins over Hong Kong in the women's fours and Malaysia in the men's pairs and men's triples.

Australia will provide the opposition in the men's pairs and men's triples following penultimate-round victories over Canada and India, respectively.

Standing between the Kiwis and glory in the women's fours are Malaysia, who beat Australia in the last four.

Matches are being played across three venues – Club Helensvale and the Broadbeach and Musgrave Hill Bowls Clubs.
