Hosts Denmark have taken the lead after the opening day of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Dressage Nations Cup event in Uggerhalne. 

The Danish team lead with 11.000 penalties after Daniel Bachmann Andersen achieved an individual victory on Blue Hors Don Olymbrio and compatriot Cathrine Dufour finished second.

Sweden are in second place with 13.000 penalties, with Therese Nilshagen and Minna Telde third and fourth.

Fabienne Müller-Lütkemeier's fifth-place finish put Germany third in the standing on 27.000 penalties. 

The competition is scheduled to continue tomorrow.

Uggerhalne hosts the third leg of the FEI Dressage Nations Cup, with a further five legs taking place afterwards.
