Uruguay thrashed Bolivia today to make it three wins out of three in Group A and secure their place in the semi-finals of the South American Football Confederation qualifiers for the 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Rio de Janeiro.

The Uruguayans won 5-1 at the Parque Olímpico to successfully follow up victories over Colombia and Ecuador.

They sit top of Group A with nine points.

Hosts and reigning world champions Brazil, who were not in action today, are second with six points out of six.

Occupying third place are Colombia after they bounced back from consecutive losses to beat Ecuador 8-4 today.

In Group B, there were wins today for Argentina and Peru after extra-time.

Argentina edged out Chile 3-2, while Peru overcame Venezuela 5-4.

Group B leaders Paraguay, who will host the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup from November 21 to December 1, did not play today.

They have a perfect record from their two matches.

Argentina are level on six points in second place having won one game on penalties, one in normal time and one after extra-time.

Group stage action is due to continue tomorrow.

The top two nations at the event, excluding already-qualified Paraguay, will advance to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
