American Asa Stevens upset English opponent Ivan Hope to secure the gold medal in the men's flyweight division as the International Boxing Association Youth World Championships concluded in Budapest.

Stevens said his game plan worked to perfection as he recorded a unanimous victory at the Duna Arena in the Hungarian capital.

His victory was one of two triumphs for the United States today as Heaven Garcia clinched the women's flyweight title by defeating India’s Anamika in the final.

Russia also enjoyed a successful end to the event as they won four gold medals.

In a battle of the continental youth champions, Russian European gold medallist Dzhambulat Bizhamov overcame Kazakhstan's Asian title holder Yermakhan Zhakpekov to top the men's welterweight podium.

Ruslan Kolesnikov ensured Russia earned another victory over Kazakhstan as he beat Sagyndyk Togambay to seal the men's light heavyweight crown.
