Chuuk won a thrilling five set match to win the men's volleyball title as the Micronesian Games concluded in Yap.

They won a topsy-turvy encounter with Palau 22-25, 25-13, 21-25, 25-21, 15-10.

Kiribati had earlier beaten Pohnpei in straight sets to win the bronze medal.

They came through 25-22, 25-21, 25-12.

In the women's volleyball final, the gold medal went to Guam.

Their team defeated Marshall Islands in four sets, winning 25-23, 26-24, 20-25, 25-17.

Palau won the bronze medal as they beat hosts Yap in four.

They fell behind but recovered to win 22-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-22.

The volleyball medals were the only ones decided on the 12th and final day of competition.

A Closing Ceremony then brought the multi-sport event to an end.

Palau topped the medal table with 32 gold, 17 silver and 20 bronze.

Pohnpei won the most medals with 70 but only had 18 golds, placing them fourth.

Marshall Islands finished second and Guam third.
