Japan and Australia maintained their perfect records as group phase action continued today at the Junior Men's Softball World Championship in Prince Albert in Canada.

Both countries have won five matches out of five in Group A at the Prime Ministers' Park Field and are due to meet tomorrow in the last round of pool matches to determine who tops the pile.

The Japanese, the defending champions, eased to their latest success as they beat India 12-0.

Australia were similarly decisive as they demolished South Africa 17-1.

Two other matches were also held today - both in Group A.

Argentina sit third with a three wins and two defeats record after they beat Mexico 6-5.

India also returned to the field to beat winless Denmark 9-2, and sit joint fourth with the Mexicans on two wins and three defeats.

After the end of the pool phase tomorrow, the super round will begin.
