Panama finished top of the medal table as the Para Central American Games concluded in Nicaragua's capital Managua.

The country claimed 22 gold medals, 10 silver and seven bronze to sit on top of the leaderboard with a total of 39.

El Salvador won the most medals out of any country at the Games but finished second due to winning fewer golds.

They topped the podium 18 times to add to their 19 silvers and 13 bronze, a total of 50.

Hosts Nicaragua finished third, winning 11 gold, seven silver and 10 bronze.

Nicaragua finished the event in fine style as they won three gold medals in team sports.

The country won both goalball tournaments after final victories over Guatemala.

The men won 10-8 and the women won 7-2.

In wheelchair basketball, Nicaragua saw off El Salvador 60-44 to win the men's gold medal.
