Claudia Loesch secured a home win on a day of giant slalom competition at the World Para Alpine Skiing World Cup in Kuhtai, Austria.

Loesch was fasted in the women's sitting event as she claimed gold in an overall time of 2min 13.00sec.

Japan's Momoka Muraoka finished in second place, in 2:16.70, while Germany's Anna-Lena Forster finished third in 2:19.61.

Germany's Anna Schaffelhuber did not finish her first run as her disappointing start to the season continued. 

Jesper Pedersen continued his good form in the corresponding men's event to win in a combined time of 2:00.61.

He was followed by United States' Tyler Walker, who finished second in 2:03.25, and Italy's Rene de Silvestro, who finished third in 2:04.74.

Marie Bochet of France continued her superb form in the women's standing class.

She completed the course in 2:05.30 to comfortably defeat arch-German rival Andrea Rothfuss, who was a distant second in 2:10.85.

Canada’s Alana Ramsay finished third in 2:12.64.

Henrieta Farkasova and guide Natalia Subrtova were among the day's other winners as they triumphed in the visually impaired event in a time of 2:07.90.

Germany’s Noemi Ewa Ristau and guide Lucien Gerkau were second placed in 2:11.92.

Great Britain’s Menna Fitzpatrick and guide Jennifer Kehoe completed the podium with a time of 2:15.32.
