The finals were booked at the World Bowls Singles Champion of Champions in Sydney after a day of elimination round and semi-final action.

In the men's showpiece game Aaron Teys will play New Zealand's Dean Elgar on home soil after both players won two matches at the St Johns Park Bowling Club.

Teys began by beating Arun Kumar of Fiji 10-5, 7-6 in the elimination round.

That booked a semi-final with David Kingdom of Wales and he won again, 7-7, 8-6.

Elgar knocked out Ireland's Barry Kane in the elimination round, 7-4, 7-7.

Scotland's Derek Oliver, who like Kingdom had qualified automatically for the last four, was then dispatched 10-5, 10-7.

In the women's competition it was a similar story as the elimination round victors reached the final.

Emma Firyana Saroji of Malaysia beat Carla Krizanic of Australia 10-2, 4-9, 5-0 first up and then won her semi-final against Donna Knight of England, 11-10, 12-6.

Her opponent will be Laura Daniels of Wales, a 10-4 6-5 winner over South African Nici Neal in the elimination round.

In the last four, Daniels beat Selina Goddard of New Zealand 8-2, 11-2.

The finals will be held tomorrow.
