Canada and the United States booked their places in the women's final at the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation Americas Cup in Colombia.

The Canadians finished on top of the sole women's group at the Evangelista Mora Coliseum in Cali.

They beat Argentina 69-32 to preserve their 100 per cent record en-route to the final.

The US joined them in the showpiece game by finishing second behind the Canadians.

They ended their group phase with a 45-23 win over hosts Colombia.

Brazil and Argentina, who finished third and fourth in the group respectively, have joined the top two in booking a place at next year's IWBF World Championships.

In the men's event, Canada remained on top of Group A thanks to a 68-49 win over Argentina.

Puerto Rico beat Venezuela 72-48 elsewhere in the group.

The US edged Brazil to ensure that they have won Group B with a game to spare.

The Americans came through 47-44 in a low-scoring contest.

Mexico thrashed Uruguay 83-30 to reach the quarter-finals.

The top four teams in each group will all make it through with one round of matches remaining.
