Ronnie Duncan leads the men's section one standings ©World Bowls

Scotland's Ronnie Duncan has claimed the overall lead in the men's section one at the World Cup Indoor Singles at the Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club in Shellharbour.

Duncan collected three wins from three matches on the fourth day of competition in Australia.

The Scot opened his account for the day with a 13-4, 12-4 win over Papua New Guinea's Gariga Babona before overcoming Spain's Tom Rogers 17-1, 8-10, 4-1. 

A sublime day for Duncan was then complete when he beat Japan's Ken Emura 8-8, 7-6.

There was also a change at the top of the men's section two standings with three victories ensuring South Africa's Pierre Breitenbach now leads over night.

In his second match of the day, Breitenbach defeated the previous leader, Ali Forsyth of New Zealand 7-4, 7-5. 

The South African also claimed a 17-2, 16-5 victory over Ozkan Akar of Turkey, as well as a 18-0, 5-5 win against Singapore's Melvin Tan.

In the women's competition, Nor Hashimah Ismail of Malaysia moved level at the top of the section one table with two wins from two today.

Ismail defeated Radhika Prasad of Fiji 11-9, 8-8 before overcoming Stephanie Hili of Malta 10-5, 10-5.

Level with Ismail in first place on 21 points is Guernsey’s Lucy Beere.

Beere lost her first match of the day to Hili 7-5, 11-8. 

However, she did respond by winning her second match against Australia's Natasha Scott, who also finds herself on 21 points overall, 8-10, 10-2, 6-0.

New Zealand's Jo Edwards maintained her position at the top of the section two standings.

Edwards, the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist, beat Scotland's Lesley Doig 10-6, 10-3.
