iPro Sport has been announced as the new preferred hydration drink of England Netball and the Vitality Netball Superleague for the next two years.

The partnership will see iPro Sport "hydrating" the England team as they build up to the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast in 2018, as well as "aiding their re-hydration" when they take on Australia, New Zealand and South Africa in February.

This competition sees four of the top five sides in the world rankings do battle as part of the Vitality Netball International Series.

"With the physical demands not only 60 minutes on court, but also the full-time training programme, it’s hugely important we have the very best in sports hydration," said Stephanie Shreeve, England Netball's performance nutritionist.

"Having worked with them for a number of International Series, I am confident that iPro Sport will support and ensure all players receive optimum hydration enabling them to train and compete at the very highest level."

England Netball are the latest partner to join iPro Sport, whose partnership portfolio includes a host of professional sports clubs and sporting organisations.

Their partners include current English and European rugby union champions Saracens, as well as football clubs Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers.

"We are extremely proud to be working in partnership with such a prestigious governing body and one which inspires and positively impacts upon this country’s netball playing community," said Sophie Christy, commercial director for iPro Sport.

"Over the next two years we are looking forward to further developing the benefits of this ongoing hydration partnership with England Netball, its athletes and the members."

The announcement follows the news that former international cricketer Ashley Giles has secured a role on the board of England Netball.

The 43-year-old, who took 143 wickets in 54 Test matches for England and was a member of the team which won the memorable Ashes series against Australia in 2005, is the current director of cricket at Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Giles, who has also been a national selector and head coach of his home country's one-day international team since retiring in 2007, is undertaking a Masters degree in sporting directorship and England Netball claim he brings a "a wealth of expertise in all aspects of elite-level sport" to its Board.
