Quick-Step had been the title sponsor from 2003 and 2011, but had acted as the co-partner with first Omega Pharma and then the healthcare company’s sports nutrition brand Etixx.

Patrick Lefevere, the team’s chief executive, has welcomed the continued association with Quick-Step for the 2017 season.

"We’re delighted that Quick-Step has taken this opportunity to become the title sponsor of the team," he said.

"We’ve achieved many goals together, and we’re eager to keep doing so in 2017.

"Meanwhile I’d like to thank Etixx, which now becomes an official partner, for its support, and I’d like to stress that the budget and structure of the squad will remain unchanged for the year ahead."

"These values are the cornerstone of success for both our organisations.

"By origin we’re also a Flemish company – cycling is in our DNA."
