A website for the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Wheelchair Dance Sport European Championships has been launched ahead of the event taking place later this month.

Around 100 dancers are expected to attend the Championships, with 15 countries due to be represented in Kosice, Slovakia.

The website was launched to enable fans to view athlete interviews and the competition schedule, as well as providing information for teams and the media attending the event.

Daily reviews of all competitions will be posted to the website, which can be accessed here, while live coverage will also be available on IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

Competition is due to take place between October 28 and 30.

The decision to hold the competition for three days for the first time has been aimed at accommodating the growing number of medal events on the programme.

Singles events will be making only their second appearance on the programme, having been introduced at the 2014 European Championships in Lomianki, Poland.

The Championships was attended by 150 dancers from 20 countries.

Kosice, which is hosting the Championships as part of its status as a European City of Sport, will be hopeful of seeing home success with world champions Helen Kasicka and Peter Vidasic due to be in action.

They were beaten by the Belarusian pair of Aliaksei Zukhtsikau and Veranika Kasach in the combi-standard class one event two years ago, but will be hopeful of topping the podium in front of a home crowd.
