Defending champions Great Britain will welcome back double Olympic gold medallist Andy Murray for their Davis Cup World Group semi-final clash with Argentina.

The Scot, who successfully defended his London 2012 Olympic title at Rio 2016, opted to rest as Britain beat Serbia 3-2 in Belgrade in the quarter-finals of team tennis' premier international competition.

Murray, a double Wimbledon champion, will return for the clash with the Argentinians in Glasgow, however, which will take place between September 16 and 18.

It means a repeat of the Olympic final is on the cards as Argentina have named Juan Martin del Potro in their line-up.

He was beaten 7-5, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 by Murray in Rio and could collide with him again in the semi-finals of the ongoing US Open.

Dan Evans and Kyle Edmund have also been picked by Britain, as well as doubles specialist Jamie Murray, Andy's brother.

Argentina have also named Federico Delbonis, Guido Pella and Leonardo Mayer.

In the second semi-final, hosts Croatia have picked Marin Cilic and Borna Coric for singles clashes in Zadar.

The country are unchanged from their last eight win over United States and have selected Ivan Dodig and Marin Draganja for the doubles.

The French have opted to bring in Gael Monfils to replace Lucas Pouille, with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and doubles pairing Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert also chosen.
