Poland’s Marcin Dzienski claimed his second consecutive International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup victory after winning men’s speed gold in Swiss village Villars today.

Dzienski, a winner Chamonix earlier this week, clocked a time of 5.99sec to defeat Ukraine’s Danyil Boldyrev in the final.

Russia’s Stanislav Kokorin came away with the bronze medal after overcoming compatriot Dmitrii Timofeev in the small final.

In the women's speed final, France’s Anouck Jaubert beat Russia’s Iuliia Kaplina with a time of 8.15 to successfully follow up her win on home soil in Chamonix.

Jaubert’s fellow countrywoman Elma Fleuret got the better of Poland’s Anna Brozek in the small final to round out the podium.

Slovenia’s Domen Skofic and France’s Gautier Supper were the strongest performers in the men’s lead qualification with 2.74 points.

Skofic’s compatriot Janja Garnbret topped the women’s lead standings with 1.22 points.

Tomorrow, the men’s and women’s lead semi-finals and finals are due to be held.
