The number 15 seed came out on top after a monumental battle with South Korea's Yang Haeun which went the distance, eventually triumphing 11-7, 8-11, 8-11, 11-8, 7-11, 11-9, 11-9.

It represented an excellent turnaround for Tie who was knocked out at the opening stage by Spain's Shen Yanfei in 2015.

Her victory was her ninth tournament win at World Tour level and her first since 2010, which also came at the Hungarian Open.

The six year gap is the longest between two triumphs in the history of the World Tour.

"I’m so pleased to have won, this competition took a great deal out of me”, said Tie.

In the men's final, Chuang Chih-Yuan won an all Chinese Taipei final against Chen Chien-An in straight games, 11-6, 11-8, 11-4, 11-3.

Chen was struggling with a knock throughout the contest and was unable to put up much of a fight against his compatriot.

“We know each other very well, we play a lot together," said Chuang, who won a World Tour event for the fourth time.

"Today was my match, his injury also made it easier for me."

Meanwhile, Chuang also teamed up with fellow countryman Huang Sheng-Sheng to win the men's doubles title, beating the Belgian combination of Robin Devos and Cédric Nuytinck 11-7, 11-2, 2-11, 11-7 in the final.

The women's doubles title went to South Korea's top seeds Jeon Jihee and Yang Haeun who saw off Hong Kong’s Jiang Huajun and Yana, 11-8, 5-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-5.
