Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili welcomed Chef de Missions from several countries to a two-day seminar in the capital Tbilisi, which is set to host the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) from July 26 to August 1.

The seminar was opened by Aleksi Akhvlediani, chairman of the Tbilisi 2015 Organising Committee, while Leri Khabelov, President of the Georgian National Olympic Committee (NOC), and Mayor of the Tbilisi Davit Narmania also welcomed participants.

Chef de Missions from NOC's competing at the festival took part in the programme, which included presentations from Tbilisi 2015 staff members.

Additionally they were given a guided tour of venues which are set to host competition during the week-long event, with athletics, basketball, cycling, gymnastics, handball, judo, swimming, tennis and volleyball all set to feature.

The seminar was designed to help the Chef de Missions with their preparations for the Festival, allowing them the opportunity to get familiar with the event before their athletes head to Georgia in July.

In addition to the representatives from NOC’s, the session was observed by future EYOF Organising Committees, including Gyor in Hungary, who are due to be the next hosts in 2017.

Representatives from the 2019 hosts of the EYOF Festivals, Belarusian capital Minsk and Erzurum in Turkey also attended, with the cities due to host the Summer and Winter events respectively.
