More details have been released today about the 3rd FINA World Aquatics Convention, which is due to take place at The Ritz Carlton Hotel here from November 29 until December 1.
For the first time Convention will be taking place in conjunction with the 12th FINA World Short Course Swimming Championships, scheduled on December 3 until 7, at the Hamdan Aquatics Centre in the Qatari capital.
It is hoped sports business industry leaders and the FINA Aquatics family will benefit from the consecutive timing of these two events.
The new approach also aims to strengthen the connection between international competitions and those organisations and businesses involved in the development of aquatics around the world, officials claimed.
"The FINA World Aquatics Convention is the official place for leaders in the aquatics industry to meet, share knowledge and do business," said FINA President Dr. Julio C. Maglione,.
"Meanwhile the 12th FINA World Swimming Championships in Doha is where the entire aquatics family, from coaches, team managers and swimmers, to brands, sponsors and delivery partners, will be.
"Running the Convention in conjunction with the FINA World Swimming Championships will allow the key stakeholders of our sport to maximise both events in unison."
New features to this year's FINA World Aquatics Convention include the FINA Extraordinary Congress and the FINA Swimming Golden Coaches Clinic.
Convention delegates will gain new level of networking by meeting with other delegates around the sessions, visiting the exhibition as well as having opportunity to participate in various seminars and attending social events during the Convention, it is claimed.
