Slater finished in a time of 30.87sec, securing 944 points and putting her within the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) European Championship qualification time.

"I'm really happy with that swim," she said.

"I wanted to get under the 31 mark that I did this morning so to get the European record and qualify for the summer is brilliant.

"I didn't do the 50m Free at the World Championships last year so hopefully it will be a really fun event to swim at Europeans."

Spain's S9 swimmer Sarai Gascon took gold in the event, finishing in 29.05 to earn 995 points, whilst the Netherlands' Summer Ashley Mortimer, S10, sealed bronze in 28.39 with 939 points.

Britain's S7 swimmer Susie Rodgers also finished within the European qualifying time in a British Record 33.67 while Hannah Russell, S12, tied her British record of 27.91 in the final.

Britain's S7 world champion Matt Walker swam close to his 2013 World gold time to take silver in a time of 28.57 with his City of Manchester Aquatics team mate Phelipe Rodrigues taking bronze with 878 points.

"I'm really pleased with how my swimming has been going this week," said Walker.

"I've been working hard and keeping focused and it's paid off.

"I got the qualification time this morning and tried to go a bit more tonight and although that didn't pay off, I got the time which is the main thing.

"That's the time I did to win gold at the Worlds last year so if I can do that now, I'm excited to see what I can swim by the time it gets to Europeans."

In the men's 200m Individual Medley S8 classified swimmer Ollie Hynd swam under the European qualification time to take silver with 2:26.07.

Ahead of him was Dutch SM14 swimmer Marc Evers who scored 1,010 after finishing in 2:11.92 with Azerbaijan's Dzmitry Salei taking bronze in 2:16.92 and 873 points.

Britain's 18-year-old Lyndon Longhorne also lowered the British SM4 150m Individual Medley record that he set in the heats by over three seconds to 2:53.85.
