Gatsalov, who won his other four World Championship golds in the 96kg division, took his latest world title in the 120kg class when he defeated Ukrainian Alen Zaseev 7-0.

The pair of bronze medals went to Georgia's Geno Petriashvili and European champion Taha Akgül of Turkey.

Russia's second gold of the day came in the form of newcomer Bekhan Goigereev, who took his first world title in the 60kg final against Bulgaria's Vladimir Dubov, who won a silver medal in the division at this year's European Championships.

"I was fourth, maybe third best Russian wrestler in this weight class in the past, but today I have proved I am the best now," Goigereev said.

Competing in his sixth World Championships, his win over Cuban Reineris Salas in the 84kg class gave Ukraine a complete set of championship medals - gold, silver and bronze.

The bronze medals went to home athlete and Beijing 2008 Olympian István Veréb and Iranian London 2012 bronze medallist Ehsan Lashgari.

Russia's triumphs today see the nation extend its lead in the men's freestyle team rankings to seven points over Iran, 44-37, with only the 74kg category remaining to be contested tomorrow.

Tomorrow will also raise the curtain on the women's freestyle events, with the two lightest weight categories - 48kg and 51kg - to be contested.
