World number six Gordon Reid is one of eight British players to qualify for the end-of-season finales in CaliforniaSeptember 18 - Eight British players, including world number six singles player Gordon Reid, will compete at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Wheelchair Tennis Masters and Wheelchair Doubles Masters events this November in Mission Viejo, California.

British number one Reid will follow-up his exploits at the US Open - which saw him narrowly defeated by eventual winner Stéphane Houdet in the semi-finals - in California, along with Paralympic bronze medal-winning pair Lucy Shuker and Jordanne Whiley, and London 2012 silver medallist Andy Lapthorne.

All four will compete in the singles events, while Reid also teams up with world number one doubles player Houdet in the men's doubles, looking to go one better than the silver medal he won with Ronald Vink of the Netherlands last year.

Marc McCarroll will play with former world singles and doubles number one Stephen Welch of the US, while British number three David Phillipson joins forces with Japan's Yoshinobu Fujimoto.

Shuker will be partnered by Dutchwoman Marjolein Buis - with whom she reached the final of the Australian Open in January - in the women's doubles, and Whiley will play alongside Japan's Yui Kamiji after impressing as a team at Wimbledon in July, also ending up beaten finalists.

The top-ten ranked doubles partnership of Antony Cotterill and Adam Field will also make their debut in the elite quad doubles field after an impressive string of results this season.

"It's the second time since 2010 that a record eight British players have qualified for the ITF's year-end championships and the first time ever that four Brits are set to contest the NEC Masters alone in what has been another successful year for the Tennis Foundation's Wheelchair Tennis Programme," said the Tennis Foundation's head of disability player performance, Geraint Richards.

"I'm sure all eight British players will acquit themselves well in California and we look forward to the Tennis Foundation hosting the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from next year as we continue to build on the success of the London 2012 Paralympics."

The events will take place on November 5 to 11.
