The Brownlee brothers will both compete at the ITU World Triathlon Series race in Stockholm as the Grand Final in London draws nearAugust 20 -The top names in triathlon, including Olympic champion Alistair Brownlee and his bronze medal-winning brother Jonathan, will turn out in Stockholm this weekend in the search of vital points going into next month's International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Series Grand Final in London.

The British brothers are currently fifth and sixth in the standings after disrupted seasons which have seen them both miss races in the Series this season, and with over 600 points separating them both from current leader Javier Gomez, who is on the hunt for his third title.

But with double points on offer, it is still very much anyone's title, and performances on the course in Stockholm- which is now Olympic distance after debuting as a sprint distance course last year- this weekend will go some way to determining the men to watch in London.

The Brownlees and Gomez have locked out the podium on four of the last five times in which all three athletes have competed in a race, including at London 2012 where Gomez slipped into second to take silver ahead of Jonathan but behind Alistair, and the trio are the only athletes that have a men's World Triathlon Series race win throughout the year.

Gomez's compatriot Mario Mola is sure to have his say in Stockholm, however, after consistent performances throughout the season have him up in second going into the penultimate race of the season, with South Africa's Richard Murray and Joao Silva of Portugal closely behind in third and fourth respectively.

In the women's race, Germany's Anne Haug will be looking to retain top spot in the rankings after regaining it on home soil in Hamburg last month, whilst British pair Jodie Stimpson and Non Stanford remain within striking distance, along with American Gwen Jorgensen, who took victory in Yokohama and San Diego.

Others to keep an eye on include the New Zealand team of Kate McIlroy and Andrea Hewitt, who has finished fourth in the past two World Triathlon Series races and will no doubt be keen to break that run.

Live coverage of the women's elite races on Saturday (August 24) and men's on Sunday (August 25) can be found here.
