July 8 - Scottish OpenTurkish airlines has been announced as an official sponsor of the Scottish Open golf tournament which is due to tee off on Thursday (July 11), at the Castle Stuart Golf Links, near Inverness.

The one-year agreement sees Turkish Airlines join 15 other companies as official sponsors of the Scottish Open, which is being staged at Castle Stuart for the third year in succession.

The deal strengthens the airline company's relationship with the European Tour following the announcement in May that a new tournament is being added to the tour which sees the firm become title sponsors of the Turkish Airlines Open.

The new tournament is set to take place from November 7 to 10 in Analya, Turkey, and will form part of the Final Series on The Race to Dubai end of year money list, which crowns Europe's top golfer.

World number one Tiger Woods is due to be part of the field at the tournament being staged at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal, in Belek, and has a total prize fund of £4.7 million ($7 million/€5.5 million).
