Marcel Aubut 2May 13 - Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) President Marcel Aubut has offered his congratulations to Gaétan Tardif following his election as the new President of the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC).

Tardif, who served as Team Canada Chef de Mission at the London 2012 Paralympics, was elected as the new CPC President for a four-year term that will run through to 2017 at the recent 2013 CPC Annual General Meeting in Toronto.

He replaced the outgoing David Legg, who had held the position for last three years, and Aubut (pictured top) offered a warm welcome to his Paralympic counterpart.

"On behalf of the entire Canadian Olympic family, I would like to congratulate Gaétan Tardif on his recent election," said the COC President.

"Through his many years of service to the athletes and coaches of the Canadian Paralympic team, he has been a shining example of what it means to have vision, enthusiasm and a relentless work ethic.

"I have no doubt that Gaétan will double his efforts as he and his new team continue the outstandingly progressive work that the Canadian Paralympic Committee is known for around the world."
