Paralympic Flag_hoisted_at_City_Palace_Rio_de_Janeiro_September_2012September 13 - The Paralympic Flag has been raised outside City Palace, the seat of Municipality of Rio de Janeiro, after the Mayor Eduardo Paes collected it during the Closing Ceremony of London 2012 on Sunday (September 9).

It was hoisted at a special ceremony attended by the Paes, Carlos Nuzman, the President of Rio 2016, and Andrew Parsons, the President of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee.

Several of Brazil's top Paralympians were also at the ceremony.

The Flag is due to fly outside the City Palace, alongside the Olympic Flag which arrived last month, until a new Olympic Pavilion is completed next year.

It is currently being built in Rio's New Town.
