Olympic Park_aerial_view_May_29_2012June 23 - A competition which gives 10,000 Londoners the chance to win tickets to the 2012 Paralympics has been launched.

The tickets to the Olympic Park are up for grabs online by clicking here

Funding for the competition, launched by London Mayor Boris Johnson and the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), is from the London 2012 security sponsor G4S.

They are looking for community champions or residents who contribute to local life to take up tickets to the Paralympics Opening Ceremony.

Prizes include pairs of tickets, or a family pack of four, six or eight tickets.

Up to 20 tickets for community groups and up to 50 tickets for street groups are available.

Winners will be randomly picked after the July 18 closing date.

"The Paralympic Games promise to be a spectacular festival of sport and this competition is a fantastic way for thousands of Londoners to experience it and the Park first-hand, at no cost to the taxpayer," said Johnson.

"When it reopens after the Games, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will be an unparalleled resource for East London, with thousands of new homes, some of the best sporting venues in the world and new community facilities providing a lasting legacy for generations."

LLDC chairman Daniel Moylan said: "Through A Day in the Park, we can give people a chance to see the world-class Olympic venues and their setting before they are transformed into a great new public park due to open in stages from July 2013."

The competition also includes access to an interactive touring roadshow travelling across the Olympic site from June 23 to July 15.
