Like handball, field hockey offered the tempting reward of a ticket to the Paris Games for the champions of these Santiago 2023 Pan American Games. Just as in the women's competition with champions Brazil, the men's handball competition at these Pan Am Games had a special prize for the winners: direct qualification for the Paris Olympics.

After Brazil's victory in the women's competition, men's basketball enjoyed a thrilling third and final day of the group stage to set up Friday's semi-finals: Argentina-Mexico and Brazil-Venezuela.

Thursday saw the third day of track and field athletics at the Panam Games, with better weather than the day before and the presence of some stars who brought the passion to its peak. The event took place at the Julio Martínez Prádanos National Stadium in Nuñoa, northeast of Santiago de Chile.

Mexicans Nuria Diosdado and Joana Jiménez were crowned champions of artistic swimming in pairs on Thursday at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, which also secured their spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Today promises to be an exciting day filled with 38 finals across various disciplines. It is also a historic day as breaking makes its debut at the Pan American Games, a discipline that will also feature in the Olympics for the first time in Paris 2024.
