Generations for Peace to hold camp in Sochi

September 9 - Generations For Peace, the charity  led by Prince Feisal Al-Hussein of Jordan, has announced plans to hold its first camp outside the Middle East with an event next month in Sochi, the host city of the 2014 Olympics and Paralympics.

September 1 - A Eurovision Song Contest-style competition to design the mascots for the 2014 Sochi Olympics and find a successor to the much-loved Misha the Bear, who was the symbol of the 1980 Games in Moscow, was launched today.



Sochi 2014 environmental programme praised

August 19 - Sochi's green programme for the 2014 Olympics and Paralympics was today praised by Theodore Oben, the head of the Outreach Unit at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), who claimed that he has "a strong feeling that Sochi 2014 will be successful" in environmental protection.
