The President's Cup of the Pan American Taekwondo Union will begin on 14 March in Costa Rica. In a competition that will have the participation of more than 1,100 athletes from all over the American continent, the G-2 is set to be a transcendental event.

Croatia has won its third Olympic quota in taekwondo. On the final day of the European Qualification Tournament, 2023 World Champion in men’s 74 kg category  Marco Golubic defeated Sweden's Ali Alian to reach the final and secure his place at Paris 2024 in the men's -68 kg category. Golubic joins Lena Stojkovic (women's -49k g) and Ivan Sapina (men's +80 kg) who qualified through the rankings.

Tokyo 2020 champion Maksim Khramtsov (AIN), runner-up Tatiana Minina (Individual Neutral Athlete), bronze medallist Avishag Semberg (Israel) and Rio 2016 bronze medallist Kimia Alizadeh (Refugee Team) didn't qualify for Paris 2024 directly through the rankings. 

The European Para-Taekwondo Qualification Tournament for the Paris 2024 Paralympics took place on 8th February in Sofia, Bulgaria. Winners in 10 weight categories qualified for Paris 2024.

European taekwondo athletes will have one last chance to earn a quota for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in eight weight categories at the European Qualification Tournament in Sofia on 9 and 10 March.

Faris Al-Assaf, head coach of the Jordanian national taekwondo team, is hoping to secure another Olympic qualification for Paris 2024. Zaid Kareem (men's -68kg), Saleh Al-Saharabaty (men's -80kg) and Julyana Al-Sadeq (women's -67kg) have already qualified directly for Paris 2024 through the rankings.

International taekwondo events are set to return to Brisbane in 2024, with the World Taekwondo President's Cup (Oceania) and the Australian Open confirmed for 18-22 September at the Nissan Arena.

Alasan Ann is set to become the first Gambian taekwondo athlete to compete at the Olympic Games. Ann reached the final of the African Qualifying Tournament in February to earn his place at the Paris 2024 Taekwondo Tournament.

In a collaboration between the Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) and the recommendation of Panam Sports, the official launch of the first Pan American Taekwondo Championships in the U-21 categories has been announced. This initiative aims to strengthen and prepare the new generation that will compete at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

In a historic step towards strengthening taekwondo in the Pan-American region, the Pan-American Taekwondo Union has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) aimed at promoting inter-institutional cooperation and enhancing opportunities for athletes and the entire PATU family in the region.

Para-taekwondo athletes are preparing for the European Qualification Tournament for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games in Sofia, Bulgaria followed by the Asian Qualification Tournament for the Games in Tai'an City, China.

Magda Wiet-Hénin, France's 2023 World Taekwondo Champion in the women's -67kg category, has had a childhood dream of winning the Olympic Games and will be among the contenders for Paris 2024, reports L'Est Républicain.

USA Paralympic taekwondo athlete Evan Medell won bronze at Tokyo 2020, but the tournament ended in frustration for him. He broke his leg early in his semi-final bout against Croatia's Ivan Mikulic and now his dream is to win Paralympic gold in Paris, Team USA reports.

New Zealand is in danger of being left without an Olympic quota in taekwondo. On 30th January Taekwondo New Zealand (TNZ) announced the names of the four athletes selected to represent New Zealand at the upcoming 2024 Oceania Olympic Qualifiers Tournament. Cole Creich-Watene (men's -58kg), Eisa Mozhdeh (men's -68kg), Jamie Carpenter (women's -57kg) and Jemesa Landers (women's -67kg) were due to compete for qualification spots at the continental qualifiers. However, their participation at Paris 2024 will be in doubt even if they win the continental tournament.

The 2024 WT President's Cup - Asia was held in Tehran from 16-20 February. Iranian athletes including Amir Mohammad Haghighatshenas (men's K44 -70kg), Saeid Sadeghianpour (men's K44 -63kg) put on an impressive display, winning seven of the 10 gold medals in the Para-Taekwondo competition.
