April 13 - The International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Coordination Commission, led by Jean-Claude Killy, today started its third visit to Sochi to inspect facilities for the 2014 Games.


It is the Commission's first visit to the Russian city on the Black Sea since the Vancouver Olympics ended in February and the baton was passed to Sochi.

During the trip, which will last until Thursday (April 15), will visit the venues in Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana, as well as look at the progress in a number of Games-related areas including sport, athlete services, media services, transport and culture.

The Commission includes Ottavio Cinquanta, Rene Fasel and Gian-Franco Kasper, Presidents of the international skating, ice hockey and skiing federations respectively.

Fasel was also chairman of the Vancouver Coordination Commission.

Other members include Gunilla Lindberg, secretary general of the Association of National Olympic Committees; Cesare Vaciago, former chief executive of Turin 2006; and Rйmy Charmetant, the former sports director at the Albertville Games in 1992.

Representing the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) during the visit are Commission member and IPC Governing Board member Miguel Sagarra, IPC chief executive Xavier Gonzalez and Paralympic Games senior manager Thanos Kostopoulos.
