March 19 - Clothing store Next has signed up as the 27th domestic sponsor of the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics, it was announced today.


Next will be a Tier Three sponsor and will provide uniforms for the 4,500 technical officials at the Games and for London 2012 staff.

Next also will design opening and closing ceremony outfits and formal suits for British Olympic and Paralympic athletes and provide linen for the Athletes’ Village.

As part of this new partnership, Next will become a London 2012 licensee and the firm will use its creative team to develop a commercial range of London 2012 clothing and homeware product.
 
London 2012 commercial director Chris Townsend said: "I’m thrilled that another fantastic British brand has joined us on our journey to 2012.

"Next is a great brand and I’m confident Next will create a great look for the athletes, officials and staff as well as helping us to make  London 2012 product available across the country.
