Samsung Beckam_July_24July 24 - Worldwide Olympic Partner Samsung have unveiled their new London 2012 Olympic Games advert which features former England football captain David Beckham recreating the melody of Beethoven's Ode to Joy by kicking footballs against a wall of drums.

The 37-year-old Londoner, who helped the London 2012 bid team secure the Games before being controversially left out of the Team GB football squad last month by head coach Stuart Pearce, starred in the advert to promote the Games and show how people can become involved with them via their phones.

The advert, made by Cheil Worldwide, shows people around the world waiting for Samsung's Olympic Games Ambassador Beckham to hit the drum to start the Olympic Games and then using their Galaxy S III handsets to share footage of his shot.

The campaign is based around the theme of "Everyone's Olympic Games" and aims to remind people that they can be part of the Games, even if they do not have tickets, by sharing moments through their mobile.

"London 2012 is the first Olympics where television will no longer be the dominant medium," said the global executive creative director of Cheil Worldwide Wain Choi.

"Our film shows how the new Galaxy S III opens up the games for everyone to enjoy, in a variety of different ways, thanks to the phone's multi functions.

"More than just a sports spot, we aim to show how, more than ever before, it's 'Everyone's Olympic Games'."

The advert has been shared on various media platforms, including Beckham's Facebook page, which has 18 million fans.

The advert will be seen in 26 countries throughout the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
