Russia.Park logoJune 24 - The Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) will launch its Master of Sport Administration (MSA) course at Russia.Park in Perks Field, Kensington Gardens, on July 30, they have announced.

Perks Field, in the northwest corner of Kensington Gardens, will become "Russia.Park" during the 2012 Olympic Games.

The Park will incorporate a rich array of Russian cultural experiences, hosting performers from all over Russia, traditional arts and regional cuisines, as well as family-friendly picnic zones.

This venue, which will host RIOU's launch in its conference centre, will be open from 26 July until 12 August 2012.

"We are delighted that RIOU has the opportunity to launch its inaugural MSA course at what will become the heart of Russian culture throughout the Games," said Professor Lev Belousov, the chief executive of RIOU.

"Russia.Park is such an exciting prospect in itself and is the ideal location for RIOU to launch the course: delegates will experience the Russian International Olympic University and witness the VIP panel discussion, involving some of the best business and sporting expertise in Russia, all whilst immersed in all that the Park has to offer."

Among the speakers expected to attend the launch are Alexander Zhukov, the President of the Russian Olympic Committee, and Dmitry Chernyshenko (pictured below left with Belousov), the President and chief executive of Sochi 2014.

Other leading figures who are due to attend are Vladimir Potanin, the chairman of the RIOU's Supervisory Board; René Fasel, the President of the International Ice Hockey Federation and an influential member of the International Olympic Committee; David Willetts, Britain's Minister of State for Universities and Science; and Svetlana Zhurova, the Olympic 2006 500 metres speed skating gold medallist.

"The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are the ideal occasion for RIOU to launch their new MSA course, because of both the university's relationship with the Olympic Movement as well as its prioritisation of Olympic values in each of its modules," said Chernyshenko.

"Another of RIOU's priorities is to involve people of all ages in the preparation for Russia's own Sochi Olympic Winter Games which will take place in 2014, a commitment which will be reaffirmed at the MSA course launch, and supported by all those on the panel."
