Bernard Lapasset_behind_rugby_ballFebruary 23 - International Rugby Board (IRB) chairman Bernard Lapasset is the latest speaker confirmed for the International Sport Security Conference (ISSC) taking place from March 14 and 15 in Doha.

Lapasset joins Premier League chairman Sir Dave Richards for a panel discussion entitled "New Frontiers: Rewards and Challenges to Growing a Sporting Brand in New Markets".

They will be looking at how sports brands can make inroads into new markets, and four more speakers have also been confirmed for a panel entitled 'Maximising The Legacy and Economic Impact of Hosting a Secure Major Sporting Event'.

South Africa 2010 World Cup chief executive Danny Jordaan will be joined by Leonard McCarthy, a vice-president of the World Bank, AECOM sports director J Parrish, Singapore Community Ministry youth sport director Koh Peng Keng and Qatar 2022 World Cup Supreme Committee general secretary Hassan Al-Thawadi.

Mohammed Hanzab, the President of the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS), said: "We are delighted that IRB Chairman Bernard Lapasset will be joining our distinguished line-up of speakers at the International Sport Security Conference.

"The event provides an important platform for sharing information and exploring best practice, as well as addressing the most pressing issues in sport today.

"Their panel session on the economic benefit and legacy of hosting major events is one of the most important and pressing issues in sport."
