wsb_youtube_29-09-11September 30 - The World Series of Boxing (WSB) have revealed that the competition will be streamed live on the internet after they launched their new YouTube channel WSB TV.

The WSB is owned by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) and is the only professional boxing competition that allows amateur boxers to retain their Olympic eligibility even though it features no head guards or vests and a professional-style scoring with three judges.

The WSB TV announcement means that the competition will become the first league based sporting event to have its entire season broadcast on YouTube.

This project was put into life through a collaboration between WSB, its media partner Total Sports Asia (TSA) and Google Inc.

"We are very pleased to announce the launch of the WSB TV channel on YouTube thanks to Google and TSA," said WSB chief operating officer Ivan Khodabakhsh.

"We are very determined to bring the best content of WSB inaugural season and live matches of the upcoming second season to our fans.

"The WSB TV channel on YouTube will provide free on demand WSB matches to fans, whether at home, in the office or on the road.

"It is a great step for WSB, reaching to new boxing audiences around the world, beyond the 80 countries which showed the WSB's first season matches live.

"This significant step will emphasise WSB's true global brand."

Aside from live matches, YouTube users will also gain access to exclusive footage of all the franchises as well as highlights, interviews and other media content.

The channel can be accessed directly from YouTube or through www.worldseriesboxingtv.com and will begin broadcasting live matches from November 11 when season two kicks off.

This season, the competition will have a new look format with 12 teams from divided into two groups of six.

Group A will feature Pohang Poseidons, Dynamo Moscow, Dolce & Gabbana Milano Thunder, Astana Arlans, Mumbai Fighters and Los Angeles Matadors.

Meanwhile Group B features defending champions Paris United, Istanbulls, Baku Fires, Beijing Dragons, Leipzig Leopards and Mexico City Guerreros.
