Nanjing_2014_Olympic_logoJune 10 - Nanjing 2014 has announced its marketing plan for the Summer Youth Olympic Games, which will be held in the Chinese city in just over three years' time.

The key aim of the marketing plan is to cooperate with companies from various industries including logistics, financial services and tourism to provide financial support for the Games.

The plan was launched at a ceremony in Nanjing hosted by the vice-chairman of Nanjing 2014 Ji Jianye, who is also the Mayor of Nanjing, while a special video message was made by International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge who called for companies in China and worldwide to help them deliver a fantastic event.

"The Nanjing 2014 Organising Committee cannot deliver the Games on its own," said Rogge.

"It needs the support of key partnerships with the business community that will become integral to the success of the Games.

"Youth Olympic Games Partners will help us forge new ground, bringing industry leading expertise, innovation and financial support to the Games."

Key guests included Yu Zaiqing, the vice-chairman of Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) and James Moy, the IOC marketing and sponsorship department representative who introduced the marketing principle of the IOC to NYOGOC at the ceremony.

The Youth Olympic Games feature athletes between the age of 14 and 18 with Nanjing set to stage the Games from August 14 until 26.

The first Summer Youth Olympic Games was staged successfully in Singapore last year, while Innsbruck will stage the inaugural Winter Youth Olympic Games in January 2012.
