Wei_NingApril 30 - Four world records were equalled and ten London Olympic quota places were assigned during the 2011 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Shotgun World Cup in Beijing.


Hosts China finished top of the medal standings at the Olympic Clay Target Field event.

A total of 350 athletes were competing for places at next year's Olympic Games.

"This is a wonderful Olympic Legacy," ISSF secretary general Franz Schreiber said.

"Beijing's shooting range is one of the best and largest of the world, and we are pleased that it has been maintained and kept operative after the Olympic Games.

"We hope we will be back here soon."

In the skeet women Wei Ning took gold in front of her home supporters, equalling two world records in the process, as both Thailand and Germany took quota places.

In the skeet men Cyprus' Antonakis Andreou equalled the men's world record, whilst Malta qualified for the 2012 Games in the men's double trap.

India also took a quota place in the skeet, as Ronjan Sodhi took silver.

In the women's trap, Makela-Nummela secured Finland a quota place, and among the men Croatia's Giovanni Cernogoraz won the final to qualify for the London Olympics.
