The 2006 Olympic silver medallist recorded back-to-back wins with victory at the St Moritz track in Switzerland today hot on the heels of her success in Winterberg last weekend.

Rudman produced the fastest time on each of the two runs of 1min 09.76sec and 1:09.41 to secure her second World Cup victory of the season and put pressure on Germany's Anja Huber.

Huber managed to climb from fifth after the first run to finish third to ensure she continues to lead the World Cup title race, while Canada's Melissa Hollingsworth took silver.

Andi Schmid, performance director of British Skeleton, said: "It was a great result for Shelley today.

"Her pushing performance is getting better and her sliding performance was really, really good.

"It was quite close between the top three girls today, but Shelley was good enough to win it."

Rudman and Huber are now neck and neck going into the eighth and final round of the 2010/11 World Cup in Cesana, Italy, next Friday (February 4).

"Cesana is going to be really interesting now - these two girls are fighting really hard for victory," added Schmid.

Amy Williams, Britain's Vancouver 2010 Olympic gold medallist, competing at her third World Cup of the season, continued her return to the sport with a 10th place finish in St Moritz overall.

She was seventh after the first run while team-mate Donna Creighton finished 20th.

In the men's event earlier today, Britain's Chris Type produced another top ten result, finishing ninth.

Team-mate Kristan Bromley, the experienced Sheffield-based slider, returned from his recent injury-enforced two-race break to finish 14th overall, while Andy Wood failed to make the cut for the second run despite having the third fastest start time on the first run.

Type is now 11th overall in the World Cup rankings, with one more event to go.

Today's race was won by Martins Durkurs of Latvia in 2.16.54 with Germany's Frank Rommel taking silver and Ben Sandford, New Zealand, bronze.
