Indian grapplers and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh have said that both parties are willing to undergo narco tests.

The country’s top wrestlers including Olympic and world medallists like Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat have been protesting for several weeks against Singh, who has been accused of sexual harassment.

The protests were taking place at Jantar Mantar, with the wrestlers demanding police take action against right wing and ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Singh.

Singh, who has denied any wrongdoing since the beginning, has said that he is willing to undergo "narco test, polygraph test or lie-detector test", provided wrestlers "also undergo these tests with me".

"If both the wrestlers agree to undergo it, they should call a press conference and make an announcement," he wrote on Facebook.

"I promise them that I will be ready for the test.

"I stand by my word even today and promise the countrymen to remain steadfast forever."

The wrestlers have responded to Singh’s offer, saying they are ready for the same on live television.

"We had already said that players are ready for the narco test as well," Punia was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

"The test should be done under the supervision of the Supreme Court and the whole country be able to see it live so that they know what questions are being posed to the WFI chief and wrestlers who complained against him.

"In fact, the seven wrestlers who had registered a complaint against him are ready for the test.

"We appeal to Supreme Court that the whole country should be able to see it."

World medallist Phogat added that it needs to be done live so "the entire country knows about his cruelty to the country’s daughters".

The protest first started in January this year, but it was called off after a dialogue with Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, who promised a fast solution.

The inaction from the Government or authorities forced the athletes to resume protest.

A candlelight march is being planned for tomorrow outside India Gate with wrestlers appealing to the people, especially women, to join them.

Two separate First Information Reports were filed against the BJP politician on April 28 following a Supreme Court directive to Delhi Police.

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has taken over the running of WFI, with secretary general VN Prasood asked to hand over the official documents and financial records to its Ad Hoc Committee.

The IOA ordered WFI secretary general VN Prasood to hand over the official documents, including financial records, to its Ad Hoc Committee, and banned the current office bearers at the national governing body from playing any role in its running.

The two-person Ad Hoc Committee was formed to manage the affairs of the WFI and conduct elections for the national governing body.

Commonwealth Games shooting gold medallist Suma Shirur and IOA Executive Council member Bhupender Singh Bajwa are part of the Committee.
