Only one team quota was on offer at the qualifying event, with Poland beating Hungary and the Czech Republic to come out on top.

Poland secured a 10-point lead after the dressage phase on Friday (May 19), with Pawel Warszawski and Lucinda Ex Ani 4 starring with 29.7 points.

Compatriots Jan Kiminski and Jard, Wiktoria Knap and Quintus 134, and Malgorzata Korycka and Canvalencia, finished second, fourth, and eighth, respectively, to help the team to victory.

They also finished first in the cross-country on Saturday (May 20), with Kaminski and Korycka standing out from the rest of the athletes.

All four riders from Poland completed the jumping round on Sunday (May 21), as Kaminski finished first.

"It was a result from very good team spirit and teamwork," Poland's Chef de Mission Andreas Dibowski said.

"The first thing I told the riders was we needed safe rounds, and it would be okay to take some time penalties."

A total of 16 team slots for eventing is available at Paris 2024, including one for the hosts.

Poland has taken the ninth spot which means fierce competition is expected for the remaining spots.

Germany, the United States, New Zealand, Britain, Ireland, Sweden, and Switzerland qualified as the highest ranked teams at the 2022 FEI Eventing World Championship at Pratoni del Vivaro in Italy.

Another qualification event is set to be held in June at Millstreet, Ireland, for Group F and G featuring countries from Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Oceania.

Other qualifiers include the FEI Eventing European Championship at Pin du Haras in August and the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago in October.

The final chance to get a team slot for the Olympics in the French capital would be the FEI Eventing Nations Cup Series in Boekelo.
