Olympic, world and Asian champion Bakhodir Jalolov of Uzbekistan was the star of the show on day four of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Men's World Boxing Championships here.

The super heavyweight boxer attracted ensured an almost-full Humo Arena as he secured a dominating win over Danis Latypov of Bahrain.

The Uzbek sensation was hurting Latypov with each blow, despite the Bahraini trying his best to defend.

He won all three rounds and the bout 5-0 via unanimous decision.

There was more entertainment in the super heavyweight category as Aleksei Dronov of Russia faced Kamshybek Kunkabayev of Kazakhstan in one of the last bouts of the day.

Dronov, a Youth Olympic champion in 2018, took the first round against Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medallist Kunkabayev.

But the Kazakh boxer returned for the second round all fired up, starting with two strong blows to the Russian's face.

The Kazakh boxer, a two-time World Championships silver medallist, finished the bout strongly, winning 4-1 via split decision.

Abner Teixeira of Brazil started the proceedings in the weight class, taking the first round 4-1 against Vladan Babić of Serbia.

The Brazilian, who won Tokyo 2020 bronze and has a Pan American Games bronze medal to his name, threw three back-to-back blows to the face for Babić in round two wining it 5-0.

Teixeira had better pace and accuracy, hitting where it matters, as the judges called an easy unanimous decision victory for the Olympic medallist.   

Three-time Olympic bronze medallist Lázaro Álvarez of Cuba continued his from the previous round.

The 32-year-old outsmarted his Ethiopian opponent Mesfin Biru Keralah with a 5-0 unanimous decision victory in the light welterweight category.

Earlier, another Olympic champion from the host nation Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan gets a was facing Óscar Castañeda of Mexico.

The 29-year-old takes the first round in the flyweight category and but the Mexican managed to get some blows in the second round.

However, Dusmatov recovered brilliantly to win that round as well.

Some superb counters from the Olympic champion saw him to win the bout 5-0.

In the light welterweight class, Olympic, world and European medallist Hovhannes Bachkov of Armenia was sensational.

Facing Aleksej Sendrik of Serbia, the Armenian’s dodging technique defensive strategy paid dividends.

His check hooks surprised his Serbian opponent but Sendrik also did not back down.

After edging round one 3-2, the Armenian stepped up targeting Sendrik's face.

But the Serbian was carrying on like a true warrior.

In the end, it was a 5-2 split decision win for Bachkov.

Commonwealth and African medallist Richarno Colin of Mauritius defeated Kazakh boxer Sanatali Toltayev.

Toltayev was on top first, but the African medallist managed to find the rhythm at a crucial time as he won 5-2 via split decision.

In the flyweight, two-time European champion and World Championships silver medallist in 2015, Vasilii Egorov of Russia, was up against Samet Gümüş of Turkey.

The 30-year-old Russian only edged Gümüş for the first round with both boxers are playing the waiting game here.     

Gümüş also missed out in the second again by a thin margin.

But experience came into play in the third round as some solid punches to the face of Gümüş helped Egorov gain advantage and seal a 4-1 split decision victory.
