The Netherlands, Hungary, United States, Italy, Spain, and Greece have all qualified for the Women's Water Polo World Cup Super Final after prevailing in the division one preliminary rounds.

The first round saw teams compete for qualification in Rotterdam.

The Dutch hosts produced a perfect record, winning three games from three, to top Group A with nine points.

Brigitte Sleeking bagged a hat-trick to help her side to an 11-7 victory against Australia in the opener before they prevailed 14-10 over Greece the following day.

A crucial 12-11 win came in the final fixture against eventual second-place finishers Hungary who had already secured their progression.

Group B table toppers US' campaign got off to a poor start as they lost to Spain 17-15, which included a 5-3 penalty shoot-out.

They bounced back to get the better of China and Italy 12-5 and 14-13, respectively.

Italy's wins over China and Spain were still enough to see them advance.

Round two of the first division fixtures then took athletes to Athens.

Group 1 was topped by The Netherlands once again but as all four teams in the pool, which included the US, Hungary, and Italy, had already qualified the results counted for nothing.

Spain and Greece made it through to the Super Final in first and second, respectively, while three losses for China saw them relegated to Division 2.

Division 2 is set to take place from May 2 to 3 in Berlin across two groups.

The top two in each will move into the crossover round which features two matches and sees the winners qualify for the Super Final in California from June 23 to 25.
