Just two days after thrilling the home crowd with his all-round success, Asil delivered victory again at the Antalya Sports Hall in the Turkish city.

Asil, the reigning world champion in rings, proved too strong on his favoured apparatus as he sealed gold with a winning score of 14.933 points.

Armenia’s Artur Davtyan earned silver with 14.733 - the same score as Greece’s Eleftherios Petrounias who had to settle for bronze.

Britain bagged their third gold of the tournament courtesy of Luke Whitehouse’s triumph in the men’s floor competition.

Whitehouse backed up the gold-medal success of the women’s team and Jessica Gadirova’s all-around victory with a title-winning performance.

It was a memorable debut at a major championship in a British vest for Whitehouse who topped the podium after scoring 14.900.

Israel’s Artem Dolgopyat scored 14.666 for silver, with Germany’s Milan Hosseini notching 14.200 for bronze.

"Honestly, I just came here to enjoy myself and gain experience - winning the team medal was enough, then to make the floor final was incredible," said Whitehouse.

"That was probably the best routine of my life, I knew I had it in me and knew I could do it but to produce on this stage - I’m over the moon.

"I saw my parents as I walked out then when I finished there was a fist pump to them, I’m sure they’ll be so proud."

Ireland’s Rhys McClenaghan came out on top in the men’s pommel horse contest with a score of 14.666.

He finished ahead of Maxime Gentges of Belgium who picked up silver with 14.566.

There was also another medal for Davtyan who recorded 14.266 for bronze.

France’s Coline Devillard won women’s vault gold after seeing off the challenge of Italy’s Asia D'Amato and Belgium’s Lisa Vaelen.

Devillard took the title with 13.800 to deny D'Amato victory as the Italian sealed silver with 13.600.

The bronze medal went to Vaelen who registered 13.583 to push Romania’s Sabrina Maneca-Voinea out of the podium places.

D'Amato did finish the day with a gold medal around her neck when she captured the uneven bars crown.

She emerged victorious after scoring 14.466, while Britain’s Rebecca Downie claimed silver with 14.233 and Germany’s Elisabeth Seitz bagged bronze with 14.200.

Competition is due to conclude tomorrow with medals to be awarded in the women’s balance beam and floor and men’s vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar.
