Indonesia is targeting taekwondo improvement at the Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia next month.

The country claimed one gold, two silver and nine bronze medals in the sport at the last edition of the regional event in Vietnam last year.

Fahmy Fachrezzy, an Indonesian Taekwondo Executive Board member, said he wanted at least two gold medallists this time.

Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh is due to host this year's Games from May 5 to 17.

"We are preparing athletes to maximally bag more gold at the Cambodia SEA Games," said Fachrezzy, according to Tempo.

Indonesia has high hopes for Kadek Heni Prikasih in the women's under-46 kilograms.

Muhammad Bassam Raihan, the sole Indonesian gold medallist in Vietnam, will be in action once again in the men's under-63kg.

"I continue to prepare myself maximally and hopefully I will be able to participate up to the Paris Olympics," said Prikasih.

"At the SEA Games in Vietnam, I won bronze because I wasn't focused enough."
