The Bahrain Anti-Doping Agency (B-NADO) has obtained international accreditation from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), recognising it as a globally independent body in the field of anti-doping.

The accreditation was granted after B-NADO was judged to have passed all the requirements and applied all the special standards.

Speaking about the achievement President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Sheikh Khalid ban Hamad Al Khalifa said: "The international recognition of the Bahrain Anti-Doping Agency as an independent entity reflects the efforts made by the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Olympic Committee in combating the scourge of doping and striving to implement the regulations and laws stipulated in the Olympic Charter of the International Olympic Committee and the laws of the WADA.

"These efforts aim to preserve Bahraini sport by making it a field of brilliance and competition free from the scourge of the use of banned stimulants."

The BOC is a signatory of the World Anti-Doping Code, a document that ensures consistency in anti-doping policies, rules and regulations within sports organisations and public authorities around the world.
