Jarl Magnus Riiber of Norway claimed first place in the 10 kilometres long hill provisional round at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Nordic Combined World Cup in Oslo.

The eight-time gold medallist at the World Championships claimed top spot with the furthest jump, reaching a distance of 141 metres, securing a score of 149.7 points in his hometown.

In second was Austria's Johannes Lamparter, who scored 134 points after reaching a distance of 128.5m.

Lamparter is currently leading the standings for the season that began on November 25 last year.

Germany's Julian Schmid was level in distance with Lamparter, but only managed to accumulate 131.8 points.

Narrowly missing out was Franz-Josef  Rehrl of Austria, who reached a distance of 134.5m, scoring 128.1 points.

Lamparter has accumulated 1225 points overall. 

In second is Jens Lurås Oftebro of Norway with 1104 points, followed by Schmid in third on 1039 and Riiber in fourth with 723 points.

The FIS Nordic Combined World Cup will continue tomorrow with a championship round for the men's and women's long hill.
