The International University Sports Federation (FISU) met at the University of Coimbra with partners of the Erasmus+ "Cycling, Campus and City" programme (3Cs) to launch a project centred around sustainability.

The aim of the project will be to collect data on participants across Europe who are willing to cycle, as the two studies will be their habits and behaviours, as well as the best routes to take across cycling paths.

A 3Cs tool will be created to support circulation, which will be the main way to educate the students on being healthy.

This is targeted at university students, as the FISU aim to lead them into better lifestyles.

"This initiative is another excellent way to promote the students' health and well-being around the world," said FISU chief executive Eric Saintrond.

"To contribute to it and make its good practices known at the international level is certainly part of our mission."

Along with cycling, the partnership will consider other forms of transport such as walking.

A 3Cs tool will be created to support circulation, which will be the main way to educate the students on being healthy.

The tool will be supported with a handbook that will be available online for important health tips.

"These Erasmus+ projects, which aim at advocating for well-being, sustainability and physical activity, are fully in line with FISU's strategic approach of development in sports and education and to engage all stakeholders in that regard," said FISU Acting President Leonz Eder.

The 3Cs project is set to last until 2025, according to FISU.
